I moved a hard drive from win98se (fat32) to xp pro (NTFS).
XP explore does not recognize drive (i think i understand
why) but when i go back to win98 se, I get error that
says "fat missing----".
1. Can i recover fat32?
2.Can i save my data?
3.What other options do i have?

Thanks
dan

Something has happened to the drive during the change.  There is no reason
that a FAT32 drive from a W98 system would not be recognized correctly in an
XP system, so perhaps you tried some sort of drive initialization procedure
while the drive was installed in the XP machine and not functioning
correctly, and that has corrupted the disk.  Do FDISK /STATUS from a DOS
prompt to see what the current partition information is.

More detailed partition information can be obtained using findpart available
