Explorer not working

I failed to download "the worm" patch for windows. I got
rid of the virus but explorer will not work at all. I
tried re-loading windows but it did not work. Error
messages pop up stating certain files are not on the
disk, it is an original 98.
Can anyone help, thanks

Please refer this question to a general discussion group for your operating
system, though I suspect a reinstall of Windows is on the cards for you.
