I have been having problems with IE 6.0 SP1 crashing out
when typing into either text boxes embedded in a web page,
or the address box itself in IE.  The error follows.

IEXPLORE caused an invalid page fault in
module USER.EXE at 001e:0000166c.

I have searched high and low for the solution to this
problem.  Most of what I've found is summed up by: turn
off inline AutoComplete, restart to DOS, deltree History
folder in windows directory, restart again.  That advice
has no effect.  I still get the errors, AND inline
AutoComplete is still working!  So something is messed up.

As I said before, it's MSIE 6.0.2800.1106 SP1.  My version
of Windows is 98SE (4.10.2222A).  My video card is a
GeForce 3 Ti 200, with the Detonator drivers (4.14.10.4403)

Any help would be appreciated.

I looked at the link provided.  In response to its many
and varied suggestions:

I am running at a resolution of 1152x864 and a color depth
of 16bits.  The version of the driver is the latest.  I
have turned off AutoComplete (as it seemed to be the
problem) but after clearing it out, AND keeping it off, I
have still occasionally gotten the error when typing into
the address bar.  I am clear of any spyware, as far as
SpyBoy S&D, AdAware and BHODemon are concerned.  I have
deltreed history numerous times, but will now go on to try
the deltree operation on history, tempor~1 and cookies.

Pray for me.
