Run time errors

Hello all,

While using the IE, when I open certain sites, I will get
a message: "Run time error, do you wish to debug."  Many
times I answered no and attempted to continue without any
noticeable problems.  Other times I answered yes, and when
the debug screen came up, it seemed to do nothing.  I
really don't know how to start the app so I let it "run"
on it's own.  Finally, I hit ctr+alt+del and the debugger
is not responding.  What is causing this?  How do you
debug?  Only a few sites cause this.  Help!!  :-)

Thanks,

Brian

Hello Arun,

Thanks for the link.  However, this is not what my pc
has.  Here's what the message says:

Runtime Error has occurred. Do you wish to debug?
Line: 8
Error: Unterminated String Constant

So far, I have not found any help with this.  When I click
yes to debug, the program appears to do nothing at all
until I close it.  Then it warns that the debugger is not
finished.  How to debug?  What causes this error?  Is it
something corrupted?

Thanks again,
Brian

Go to IE tools, internet options, advanced. Disable script debugging. It is
provided for developers and is not for use during general web surfing.

Hello Sandi,

You are a savior.  It worked and the problem is solved.
It was increasingly becoming a problem.  I also made sure
that I am up to date on patches and AV protection.

Since Thursday, Oct 10th, a few of the sites I visit
(Go.com/ABC News, CNN.com) some of the images will have
red x's.  I had two folders that had the W.32 Klez.H and
Sobig.F, (which were quarantined) removed and I used
Symantec's tools to remove them.  During the removal, I
turned off my Internet connection from my Insight BB modem
as instructed by Symantec.

When I was finished, I had to call InsightBB to reactivate
my cable modem.  When I was finally able to access the
Internet is when I noticed this "x" problem.  I did not
change the registry Sandi but, I think something was
changed either in the registry or in my settings.

I have been monitoring the responses from you with others
on this to see if maybe one of them would address my
problem.  I did use several remedies for other situations
and they were helpful indeed.   What should I try next?

My PCs run:
P4 & AMD Athlon
Win98SE
IE 6
O & OE 2000 w/Incredimail, Adobe Acrobat 6
Palm Desktop 4.1, Eudora 5.1
AdAware6, SpyBot S&D, SpyWare, ZoneAlarm Pro.

I hope this will help you diagnose my problem.  I also
want to thank you very much!  Have a great Columbus Day!

Brian J T
