I am able to ping any and all Web sites, but yet when I
try to connect to the Internet via my browser, I get
the "page not found" window instead of the chosen
Website.  I am also now unable to access my email via
Outlook Express, although I can still get my email via
Internet (on another computer).  Does anyone know what
could be the problem??

I have a similar problem, and I can not figure it out.
I can ping IP addresses but not DNS.
It stopped working when I tried to have the W98 machine
share the internet connection through a W2000 machine.  I
Gave the W2000 machine a static IP address, W98 machine a
static IP address, filled in the W2000 IP address in the
W98 gateway IP.  Later I changed it all back and now I
can't receive anything.  The system does appear to connect
and send - just not receive.

I have tried reinstalling the OS (not from scratch),
deleting the TCPIP protocol and reinstalling.  Nothing
works.

If I find anything, I will let you know.

Regards,

Ron

Search your computer for a hidden file called HOSTS. Rename to HOSTS.OLD.

I posted a response that should help you LONG before you posted your HELP
message.
