Sandi,
       Just me again..... ever since installing the 'orrible AOHell
software, I've been plagued with the following problems (the AOHell software
is now gone thankfully, but these problems don't seem to want to go away).

1. Mail server (Argosoft Mail Server Pro) gives error;

   Winsock Error 10004: Interrupted Function Call

2. Internet Explorer gives error;

   Internet Explorer could not open search page (MS KB #219004)

3. KCEasy (P2P app) gives error (easier to show a screenshot of this one);

   http://ihost.it-mate.co.uk/users/test_username/files/kce_err.gif

Avant Browser and Outlook Express are both working absolutely fine, no
problems at all (which is strange as Avant Browser uses the IE
engine.....and it's only IE thats having the website connection problem).

What I've tried so far;

1. Re-install TCP/IP + DUN (as per MS KB #181599)
2. Re-install Network Adapters
3. LSPFix utility
4. Delete registry key's + uninstall/Re-install DUN
5. Restore Winsock.dll, WSock32.dll, WSock.vxd from Win 98 CD
6. Repair IE
7. Re-install IE
8. Instructions in MS KB #219004 (for the IE problem)
9. Instructions in MS KB #158474
10. Re-install ADSL drivers (yep, I'm back on BB now, hehe)
11. Post over at the Argosoft NG (for the Mail server issue...... they don't
seem to know how to reply :o\ )
12. Asked several times at the KCEasy forum, they're blaming my firewall,
and Winsock (both of which have been checked and re-installed)

I'm quite frankly out of ideas now......aside from formatting, which isn't
an option atm

Any suggestions please...? :o(

Wow, what a mess.

Now, this isn't my precise area of expertise, but it looks like you have old
version software installed (note the reference to 1999 and Win95) !!

10053 refers to a 'software' abort, not a network issue, specifically 'an
established connection was stopped by software in the host computer,
possibly because of data transmission time-out or protocol error...

I wonder if installing DUN1.4 would work for you:

Also, check out my AOL URL and make sure the AOL software and adapters are
completely gone before trying more troubleshooting/fixing:

Your a gem Sandi, thankyou.... lord knows why but, the DUN update worked
like a charm :o) (if I wasn't a gentleman, I'd kiss you now, hehe)

As for the reference to 95, this appears to be a problem with the program
itself (it's never detected it as 98SE, even when it worked, lol... mail
server detects it as 95 aswell)

Sandi,
As a matter of convenience, I've converted the MS DUN link to a short URL
