Modem Self Dialling

I am running Windows 98 with a dial up connection to the
internet on a BT line.
The internal modem has started to self dial to the
internet. I have installed and scanned with Adaware, but
the problem still exisits. I have checked the dialler
settings and all appears ok as the number shown is my ISP.
Anyone had a similar experience / knows the problem / has
a solution please.

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Internet Options

Click the "Connections" tab and make sure the dialup settings is set to
"Never dial a connection"

Brian,

AdAware does not detect everything, and if you have an older version of
AdAware the detection library would be out of date anyway.
