I have a friend who is using WinXP. In his windows, when he opens a window
and wants to minimize it, he can do this just by pressing Esc, but me, on my
computer have to press the minimize button using my mouse. How can I set my
windows to minimize the windows with a keyboard key?

Your friend has 'hotkeys' set up. Ask him how he did it (assuming you two
have keyboards of the same type and from the same manufacturer).
