Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the best place for question, if not please could you
advise of a better place?

My win98 machine is connecting to the internet fine on dialup on my correct
number, but, after a few mintues, the incoming data transfer drops to almost
nothing and webpages do no show up.
I can ping addresses and get responses back of about ttl=400, so this proves
I have a connection and the connection screens in my taskbar dont have a
cross on them.
I thought it might be a virus, but using AVG antivirus I get no viruses
found.

Has anyone seen this before? What is the solution? it's driving me nuts.

Many thx
Stu

I think it must have been a virus, somehow I managed to download the latest
virus definitions from AVG and since scanning it's been fine.

Thx anyway
Stu
