Had something called "Speed Blaster" pop up when online on
Aug.11th. Clicked cancel and continued surfing. Could
not log onto internet later, and haven't been able to
since from that computer. Have Windows 98, so shouldn't
have been affected by Worm Blaster. However, something
from this Speed Blaster did download some files onto my
computer. Have deleted these, and tried all fixes
possible. Modem connects, password is verified and
says, "logged on", but then I get a message saying "Failed
connecting to our server" from my ISP, netzero. Have
tried all suggestions from netzero to no avail. Connected
from my laptop at this time. Any suggestions from anyone?

Search your computer for a hidden file called HOSTS. Rename to HOSTS.OLD.
You may also like to use the troubleshooting advice at the URL below to
track down any remnants of Speed Blaster that may be hanging around (and
