how do  get my computer to see com 1 right now i
reinstalled win 98 onto my computer and  now everything
wants too look at com2 ..my biggest prablem is that the
computer cant find my modem becouse its always looking at
come 2 instead of com1 if you could please tell me how to
change these settings i wwould appreciate it .Jeremy in
need of a little help

Go into the cmos setup (press the del key at startup) and enable or
disabled the com ports in there.

If it's a Plug N Play internal modem you
could remove it, boot up, power down, re-install it in the computer and boot
up. The Wizard should come up at that point
to "install new device" in your system. I
know it's not the most elegant solution, but
it's the best I can think of after a long day.
