stimon error message

I recently installed an HP 4100 officejet all-in-one and
thereafter, each time I start my computer I get an error
meesage that says

stimon has caused fault in HPGTPUSD.DLL

This makes the scanner part of my 4100 inoperable.

How do I fix this?

I would check with HP tech support or the HP knowledge base on their web
site
