Is quick time necessary?  It loads automatically and
Qttask often hangs.  I can't delete it in Control Panel
add/delete programs because I am told one file (QTW32del)
is open and I must delete it first.
Can I just delete it and go from there or is this file or
any of quick time crucial?
thank

Quicktime is not a crucial program. It is similar to
Windows Media Player in that is plays video and audio.

You could try reinstalling quicktime (
http://quicktime.apple.com ), then try to uninstall it.
