I recently downloaded WMP9.  I run the setup and it
installs.. and it runs alright. but when i restart my
computer it freezes with the little sand glass thing, and
i have to ctrl alt dlt and it says its not responding, and
leads to crashing my computer... anyone know what could
fix this?

Does your system meet the minimum requirements for WMP 9?
Check here:

If uninstalling WMP 9 resolves your problem, I'd recommend
you do without it.

I have the same problem.  In my case is it caused by a
conflict between my CDRW software and the software in
Media Player 9.  I prefer mine to the built in software,
but unlike MP7.1, you (apparently) cannot chose to not
install the MS blessed software.  Do you have drag-n-drop
CD software installed?  Does anyone know how to disable
the built in software in favor of something else?
