WHEN PLAYING MP3 MUSIC FILES, THE MUSIC SEEMS TO PLAY MUCH
TOO LOUDLY IN THE FOREGROUND AND THE VOCALS ARE DIMINISHED
AND OF LITTLE VOLUME. ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT THE
PROBLEM MIGHT BE?

Using WMP9 to play these files? Do you have it set for WOW effects? You
might try shutting that off, or at least reducing its level. Also, do you
have the "Stereo Wide" setting in Advanced Volume Control on? If that is set
very high, vocals are diminished, and the instruments definitely take on a
predominant volume level. Double click on the volume icon in the systray to
bring up the Volume control panel>stereo wide>advanced>you *may* uncheck
(but not necessarily) the apply 3-D effects to digital audio.
