I have an older DELL PC and had to reinstall Windows 98
because I was having problems. Now my DVD/CDROM drive only
works as a CDROM drive and not as a DVD. How do I get the
DVD part back?

I hope you can find your answer. I came here hoping to
find some help too. I have a compaq laptop simular
problem... I can play DVDs but no Cds no data or music.
damn computers...lol good luck.

Computers are strange creatures...My problem is exactly the opposite !
My DVD-ROM only reads DVD media. I?ve tried everything to read CD or Audio
medium, but I had no success.
