My Windows 98 Microsoft CD Player suddenly can no longer
store any new CD track names, Disc Title or Artists that I
type into the Edit Play List “Disc Settings.” I know with
100% certainty that I am doing it correctly as I have done
it over 200 times already. After typing in the information
I do click on “Set Name” after each song title and
then “OK” after all the information is listed and
complete. All the new information is listed and DOES
display it until I eject the disc. Then when I re insert
the disc all the saved information is gone. A point of
interest is that all the 200 or so CD’s who’s information
I saved prior to this sudden problem still display their
info when I place them into the Player. I love using this
player while on my PC and not having the CD information
saved for display is really ANNOYING. Does anybody have
any ideas or suggestions of what I can or must do to fix
it? Thank you… John

A known limitation of the MS CD Player. If you get the CD Player that comes
with either Windows 98 Plus! or Windows 98SE you won't have this problem.

>Thank you so much for responding to my posting. Microsoft
does not make it easy to find a solution. They only
provide phone #'s for $35 "per incident" and I don't know
if that's where I have to call or. Before I go further in
my quest I was wondering if you could answer a question
for me. Do you happen to know if I can somehow upgrade my
Windows 98 CD Player to the Windows 98 Plus or Windows 98
SE via some sort of download or is it more involved than
that? I'm not very computer savvy. I'd appreciate any info
you could provbide me with. I would like to upgrade it if
it's possible and reasonable. Thanks again for your
response.... John
