You cannot use wmp9 for Windows98

You must use wmp7.1.  Windows98 doesnt support wmp9

Now, my question.  I just installed wmp7.1 and I have Windows98.  I am getting the following error message.  COOD10BO.  Can anyone please help?  Would be greatly appreciated

Windows Media Player 9 will run on Windows 98. I have installed it and used
it many times. You can download it at www.microsoft.com/downloads.

I am using WMP 9.0b with Windows 98 SE and having no
problems with it.

Windows 98 Second Edition, yes.  Plain Windows 98, no.
