I reinstalled Win 98 and now the sound won't work at all.
The device manager says the drivers are not installed.
When I try to reinstall from the Win98 cd it still doesn't
work. Help!!!

You need to determine the brand name and model of your soundcard if you have
one, and get those drivers. If the soundcard is built into the motherboard
then your motherboard manufacturer will have what you need.

The problem is that if you install Win98 again over the
older version then it will erase your original sound
files, did you make a backup of the old Win98?? If you did
then you can find where the sound files are and compare
the files from the new Win98 and the old, also try looking
the registry files.. If you didnt make a backup then there
is not much you can do!!
So I hope that you made a backup file!
