I recently bought a used Compaq Deskpro computer with Windows 98 SE  and then downloaded Windows media player. After downloading WMP9.0 for SE I could not listen to anything after installing it again I still kept getting an error message saying "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your computer, it may be in use by another program, or it may not be functioning properly" I am certain it is not being used by anothe program. I am using DirectX Intergrated Digital Audio. What is the problem and how can I get it fixed because I really want WMP badly.

Sorry about the error I mean to say Soundmax Intergrated Digital Audio not Direct X.
