I downloaded microsoft updates 5/23/04, since then I have
had no sound card. I have spent the past 24 hours trying
to figure this out.  
What will microsoft do about this?

My system is telling me that "Line-in and rear speaker
output share the same jack.

"Bad Direct Sound Driver"
and, "Cannot playback the audio, hardware is not
available, error-80040255"

Anyone have any ideas?
