Have two computers: Windows98 and WindowsMe. When
installed Norton Internet Security 2005, my network
connection on the 98 disappears, i.e. netowrk neighborhood
shows no icon (of other computer or shared printers), but
Me computer works fine with pprinters. I have checked
router. Connection through LAN to internet and email
continue to work. After uninstalling Norton 2005, Win98
worked fine again but stopped when I reinstalled. Lesson:
never buy a product that has not been on market for at
least a year. BUT DOES ANYONE HAVE A SOLUTION OR WAY OF
LOCATING THE CONFLICT
Thanks,
Kurt

Maybe Internet Security is blocking the File part of File
and Printer Sharing through its Firewall? Port 139 NetBios
I think; if it's blocked you shouldn't be able to access
your other pc. Sounds like Internet Security is disabling
File Sharing on your LAN so that people on the internet
can't access the files on your LAN. (Which is possible)
