I have two PC's one running XP (Host) and has Norton Anti Virus and the
other 98SE (Client) with no anti virus at present..
Having read from someone that the free AVG anti Virus programme was as good
as the Norton I intend downloading AVG.
I certainly don't want to have to pay again for Norton on my 98 PC.
Are there any snags?

No, they don't know the other exists across a network.

As an alternative, you can map the hard drives of the computer to the
computer running the AV software. Then schedule a new scan on the mapped
drive. The computer running Norton AV wont even know that it's scanning over
a network. This way you only have to keep one computer up to date, but you
can scan an entire network. I do this with a six computer network and it
works fine.

That's a good solution which I never thought of and if I stayed with Norton
would save me money.
