DNS Issue

Weird DNS issue. Friend screwed up their box somehow. Here's the scoop:

Can hookup on any dialup connection we try, no problem.
Cannot resolve any domain names with any of these connections.
Winipcfg shows the current / correct IP info including two DNS severs.
Can ping IP addresses all day.
IP address in URL window on IE doesn't bring up anything although tried only
one.
Resintalled OS over current config - no help.

Never seen this before. Weird....

Thx - I'll try that. One note:

I got the box to my place with DSL / a network. It works fine on the
network.
Can ping, browse, etc....
