I have two pcs (Win XP SP2) and two laptops (Win 98 SE)on my home
network attached to a linksys router (WRT54G). I have attached my Epson
Stylus Colour 500 printer to the router via a HP JetDirect 170x print
server. I used the HP JetDirect wizard to install the printer on each
computer and it installed faultlessly on all four computers
(192.160.0.101, port 9100). The printer works fine on the two pcs but
not on the two laptops (98 SE). If I try to prin from iether of these
the Epson print dialogue box comes up and looks as though it's
progressing normally but it doesn't appear on the Epson list and doesn't
get to the printer.
I use ZoneAlarm on all four computers but turning it off makes no difference
Any ideas on how to get it working?
Pete

Hmmm...a strange "twist". Even though I cannot print any document or
even a test page from the laptops I can use the Epson utility to do a
nozzle check (prints a pattern) and also to initiate the head cleaning.
So it seems its something to do with a true print job...??
