I have a computer in my network running win98.
It used to be connected to internet thru a cabel - and that worked.

Tried to install a wireless usb card, but installation failed. Uninstalled
the card - but now i cant access the internet.

The computer gets a IPadress, and I can ping the router and other computers
in my local network.
But i can not access anything outside my net - please help.

Check your Gateway and DNS settings, particularly the former.

Nobody here can tell you the correct values.  The gateway depends
on your particular equipment (although a common value is 192.168.0.1),
and the DNS server address(es) can only be provided by your ISP
(although perhaps via an automated process like DHCP).

So it's time to RTFM and/or call the ISP's tech support.
