Hi
I recently purchased a Netgear Wireless PC Card WG511v2 and installed in my
notebook. It started to download the driver but during the download there was
another screen that asked for the Windows 98SE CD-rom disk. It was looking
for a DHCPCSVC.DLL file. Now is this a problem with the installed hardware?
How would I get this file since I don't have the CDs for 98SE? The router I
am using is a Westell 327W could this also post a problem after I get the
hardware properly installed?

The problem has nothing to do with the network card or router.

When installing a new network adapter, the necessary files are often
already installed.  Tell it to look in C:\Windows.  If it isn't there,
tell it to look in C:\Windows\System.

If neither of those works, search the hard disk for files named
"win98*.cab".  If those files exist, tell it  to look in  the folder
that contains the files.

No Thank you for your assisstance. I tried to re-route to C:\Windows\System
and the pop-up downloaded proceeded to go a little further. It then stopped a
quarter of the way and asked for an "arp.exe" file. Based on what you told me
it was then asking for the file from C:\Windows, so I re-routed again. It
proceeded to go a little further and then stopped to another file "fxvcd.
vxd". I did the same thing and re-routed the path to download said file.
Connect to the Internet now. Thanks again.
