I know that Internet Connection Sharing was made to share Dial-Up, but how
about Cable and DSL?

See, I have a wireless network with a cable modem. My laptop runs fine. But
my desktop can't hold the connection for more than a few seconds (I think
that my Syntax Group USB wireless stick is the problem). I want to connect my
desktop to my laptop by a cable, and then use the Internet through it. But
ICS doesn't seem to work.

ICS can share all those types of connections.

It should work fine.  Without any information about your setup, it's
hard to say what's wrong.  If you'll post another news group message
with as much information as possible about the problem, I'm sure that
someone can help.
