I've installed a linksys Wireless G- broadband router
WRT545g. My XP home edition computer is connected
directly to it through a NIC. I'm using a wireless PCI
adapter in my windows 98 computer. I can see the internet
through both computers, but can't seem to network them. I
run the network setup wizard on xp, carry the disk to the
98 machine, run it, reboot and get the message 'Can not
complete network wizard' network hardware not found. When
I look at the device manager, under network devices, I see
Wireless G PCI adapter. Any ideas?

XP's Network Setup Wizard sometimes fails to see a network adapter
that's installed and working. That's probably because of a minor
defect in the network card's driver program.

You can configure the windows 98 network settings manually. Go to
Control Panel | Network and:

1. Add these network components if they aren't already present:

TCP/IP protocol
Client for Microsoft Networks
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks

2. Remove these network components if they're present:

IPX/SPX protocol
NetBEUI protocol
Client for NetWare networks

3. Click the Identification tab and set the workgroup name to MSHOME.
