I have a complete copy of a non working ME harddrive but want to restore the
OE 5 address book to an 98SE system. Not sure what version of OE ME had.

I've tried moving the files from windows/application data/microsoft/address
book but not having much luck.

Any ideas?

Did you try putting it in a different location and using the Address Book's
File | Import?

Tried that even with read only unchecked it comes up with error importing.

Looks like it's not backwardly compatible.

You're posting with OE6, albeit a beta of SP1, so it should be able to
import from the WAB file for any version.  What happens when you double
clock the *.WAB file.
