I'm running Win98/SE whenever I open up Outlook Express I
get an error messages that said and I quote " Msimn caused
invalid page fault in module kennel 32.dll 018f:bff7b992
I have already reinstall the latest IE6 from microsoft,
but the error keeps poping up whenever I open Outlook
Express. What do I need to do or try to elimnate this
error message. Help please ASAP thanks.

Most kernel32.dll errors are due to outdated drivers for your video display
adapter card.  Try visiting the website of the manufacturer of the card and
see if they offer updated drivers.  If not, try reducing hardware
acceleration and see if it helps:

1. Right-click the My Computer icon on the Desktop, then click Properties.
The System Properties dialog box appears.
2. Click the Performance tab.
3. Under Advanced Settings, click Graphics. The Advanced Graphics Settings
dialog box appears.
4. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider to the left one or two positions.
5. Click OK, then restart the system when prompted.

I did what you said, I have the latest driver for my
adapter card and I adjusted the graphic acceleration
setting and there was no change the Msimn error is still
there when I open Outlook Express. What can I try now?
What is this Msimn file, is it a part of Outlook Express
or Windows OS if so how can I replace the file?

Are you sure the error is in kernel32.dll and not something like
"kennel32.dll" as you originally posted?  If your original post was correct,
you may have a malware problem.

msimn.exe is the executable file that starts outlook express.  It is part of
the IE/OE installation and it identitifies it as the old "Microsoft Internet
Mail and News."

Scan your system for parasites and let's see if that is the problem.

I'm sorry I misspelled kernel32.dll the error message
states as follow "Msimn caused an invalid page fault in
module kernel32.dll 018f:bff7b992".  I ran Spybot for
maleware problems and the error still pops up when I open
Outlook Express.

Some other causes are badly formed or illogical message rules, virus
infections (such as the old Happy99 worm) and a few others, but the majority
are related to display card drivers.  Try disabling (unchecking) all message
rules and see if that helps.

If not, here's a listing of info from Microsoft about kernel32.dll errors
and you might want to review them to see if any apply in your case:
