stopping auto archive message?

hallo people

everytime i shut down outlook express, i get a message asking if i want to
archive my messages... how can i turn this off??  i don't want to archive
anything!

OE does not archive messages.
You are probably getting an offer to compact.  When a message is "deleted"
it is actually still there taking up space in the folder.  As they
accumulate the folder get slower and eventually unusable.

Pick a time when you won't be using the machine for a while and click File |
Work Offline.  Then close OE and let it compact the folders.
