I emailed myself some .jpg pictures from her pc, but upon arriving OE
(version 6.00.2800.1106) stripped them as independent picture files, and
combined them all into one image contained within the email itself, not as
an attachment. Can anyone please tell me if there is a setting I can modify
to prevent a reoccurrence ?

Thanks in advance, Brad

In Tools Options you have it set to Show Pictures Inline.

I'm using OE with Win98 SE, and couldn't find the 'Show Pictures Inline'
within Tools Options.

Great insight Frank. Why not shut the f.ck up if you have nothing to
contribute ?

What mail program did you use to send?

How did you attach the files?

OE doesn't combine attachments on receipt.   If OE received 5 picture
attachments, that's what it will show.  IF any combining happened, it
happened before OE got it.

But your Subject describes something different than your problem
description.

To stop the blocking of Any attachments, see this article:
Cannot Open E-Mail Attachments in Outlook Express 6 After You Install
SP1
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=329570

If you've installed XP SP2, then see:
Description of how the Attachment Manager works in Windows XP Service
Pack 2
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=883260

To adjust which types of attachments OE blocks, see this article:
OLEXP: Using Virus Protection Features in OLEXP 6 and SP1

I sent the files through Hotmail, and did a simple attach files (not attach
pictures) from the Hotmail menu.I'll have a look at the MS support item
329570 and see if I can find help there. This was done in Windows 98, so I
believe the XP items that followed your other info don't pertain to this
problem. Thanks for responding to my query.
