Anyone with a decent antivirus shouldn't fear attachments *too* much. To be
extra careful, attachments should be saved to a local folder on the HD and
manually scanned for viruses before opening. In the case of EML attachments,
I also go an extra step and open them in Notepad instead of d-clicking them
to open with OE. And I don't read emails or news messages in HTML except on
very rare occasions. PT only.

Thanks everyone so much for the help here.
As for attachments I do not even open mail unless it is from someone I
absolutely know or am expecting mail from but I come from a big family
(12 of us) and we exchange a lot of pics with each other.
