I get the following error whenever my outlook express tries to check email:
An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'pop4.cox.west', Server:
'pop.west.cox.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error
Number: 0x800C0133
Any idea as to what this could be? I know it's not my account settings.

[Are you really running Win98? You post here using WinXP SP2. See info in
my sig.]
1. Disable email scanning by your anti-virus application. It provides no
additional protection and even Symantec says it's not necessary:
<paste>
Disabling Email Scanning does not leave you unprotected against viruses that
are distributed as email attachments. Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect scans
incoming files as they are saved to your hard drive, including email and
email attachments. Email Scanning is just another layer on top of this. To
make sure that Auto-Protect is providing the maximum protection, keep
Auto-Protect enabled and run LiveUpdate regularly to ensure that you have
the most recent virus definitions.

2. If no joy, see if the account encounters the same error in a new identity
(File > Identities > Add new identity).
