OE problem

I set up an OE express account thru Earthlink on this office computer
which uses SBC & Mozilla FireFox. The Earthlink team helped me alot
and the mail from my Mail account comes in fine.... BUT I can not
mail Out using my Earthlink settings..for setting up OE.
"Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection/ Possible
causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long
period of inactivity/ (which it was not) Account "RD OE Pat" Server
"smtpauth.earthlink net" Protocal SMPT Port 587. Secure(SSL) No.
Error Number: 0x800CCCOF "

Does this explain why. I want to send mail from this account.
gmail and yahoo work fine

Disable email scanning by your anti-virus application. It provides no
additional protection and even Symantec says it's not necessary:
