I can send but not receive email, and I swear I didn't touch anything!
:O)
I'm getting this error....
"The server responded with an error. Account: 'CB', Server:
'incoming.verizon.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3
Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110,
Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90"
I do know that my website host is screwing up my settings. Is it
possible to keep the website at that host but have email sent directly
to my ISP account (that is, bypassing the web host)?
Thanks guys!

Default ports misfit some broadband servers. You can
Google to see what other ports are available, e.g. try port 587.

The OP's problem is with POP3. Port 587 is an SMTP port. In any case,
Verizon does not use ports other than the default, port 25 for SMTP and port
110 for POP3.

Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Servers. Make sure the server
settings for POP and SMTP are correct. Then uninstall and reinstall AVG and
choose Custom Mode. Uncheck E-mail Scanning when you see that option. For
some reason, just unchecking it in the security center causes a conflict
with the Windows Security Center.

Uninstall AVG and then do a custom install and don't install the email
scanning. Email scanning does not provide any extra protection over the
normal resident protection; it just screws up email.

Do you have AVG antivirus set to scan outgoing mail? It looks like a problem
with AVG's proxy setup.

Yep, that's exactly it, BB. Thanks. I took the scanning off and works
like normal again.
