Hi:  In the past, often, my puter said that I shut

down improperly even though I didn't. Not a big

problem as only took 20-30 seconds for the C

drive scan. A few weeks ago I downloaded windows

updates because of the new virus. Now, after the

C scan it enters into "scanning all the clusters".

This takes 2-3 hours.  Now happens every start-up.

The scans never find anything wrong or damaged.

How do I stop it from doing this?

          Thank you,  Chuck

Run "msconfig".  Click on "advanced".  Put a checkmark infront of "Fast
Shutdown".
