It is a little difficult to problem-solve your first question since
the post lack some basic information.
Is the operating system Windows95, Windows98, Windows98se? Can you
describe the hardware on your computer, specially the processor and
amount of RAM? Have you had trouble with any hardware lately ...
video, keyboard, mouse?
Did this problem just start after you've added, deleted or changed
some software or hardware? Did you have any recent problems while
recently reading or opening an email?
Do you use anti-virus software and has it been updated? Do you use a
software or hardware firewall?
Please type the exact message regarding the vxd message.
Post some information on some of these questions, and you'll probably
get some guidance from this worthy newsgroup. I'll stay tune and try
and help today and tomorrow.

The operating system is Windows98
I have a Compaq deskpro EP/SB series
CPU-Intel Pentium II 233mhz
The only problem I was having was the sound went away.
I have McAfee firewall installed.
And as for the exact message--that was it. While trying to
install vxd
Please restart your computer. And it keeps going on like
that.
