I somehow have lost FAT32 and win98 will not install. I
partitioned an 80GB disk some time ago, it worked fine.
Is there any way of recovering the data

thanks for any help

Sounds like you may have lost the entire partition.

What exactly happens when you turn on the computer?  Please provide a
complete description including the full text of any and all error
messages.

Also what happens if you boot the computer with a Windows 98 Startup
Disk and at the A:\> prompt enter the following command:

DIR C:\

Good luck
