When I go into My Computer, it does not list my cd-rom.
When I go into add new hardware, it does not even
recognize that there is a cd-rom.  I can't use the
windows disks, because the computer won't read the cd-rom.
Please help

Try to create a startup disk (diskette), place that in the a:\drive
and reboot.  See if that does the trick for you.  This link offers
some guidance in creating this startup disk, if needed.

Then try and re-install the device and the drivers.

If the CD does not even open up, then I'd also open the case and see
if all the connections are properly seated or connected.  Perhaps,
unplug the power supply and then plug it back in again.   (If you open
the case, would be a good time to blow the dust out of the cooling
fans and such.)

Good luck.
