System hangs with incoming call

My 5 year old Presario 8025 will freeze then reboot when a
phone call is received. Aside from unplugging the modem
(which is a PAIN!!!) or beating it with a hammer (which
would provide some gratification), does anyone have any
suggestions of a fix to this annoying problem? The system
seems fine is all other regards.

I'd replace the modem.
