help start win 98

I do have and old hp with Win 98.
I was trying to defragment and somebody toll my to turn off virtual
memory for better defragment.
Now I can not start my computer.
Any sugestions.
I do not have start up disk.

Try starting your computer while repeatedly pressing the F8 key. With any
luck, a Startup Menu will appear that allows you to choose Safe Mode. You
should be able to start the system in Safe Mode and fix the problem
(re-enable Virtual Memory.)

NEVER disable Virtual Memory.
