I notice that complex apps for this use involve special effects. I don't want that. I'm looking for an editor that will simply allow me to cut out and save small scenes of movies in AVI, WMV and MPG files. Saving the whole movie doesn't interest me and it takes up too much storage space. i've looked in the free download section of online sites like CNET, but am unable to find what i want that isn't restricted like the OEM version of Nero that came with my CDRW. Also, they provided a mpg decoder file that Nero would not unless i sent them $80. It looks like a very comprehensive app and i am now in the process of evaluating it.
