I just bought another desktop. It comes with a 40gig hd, floppy and dvd rom.
The hookup is a little confusing to me, compared to my older computer. The
floppy seems to have a different type of ribbon, which may be normal, and it
has a empty connector in the center of that ribbon, which in turn connects to
the floppy connector. The other seperate hookup is the DVD Rom to the hd and
from the HD to the primary IDE connector. It does not have an empty connector
in the center so I could add a slave. Could someone, with this type of
knowledge instruct me on how I can get this accomplished? Thanks.

The additional connector on the floppy cable is for a second floppy drive
(drive B).
The IDE cable is connected from the primary IDE controller to the two IDE
devices - the hard drive and DVD-ROM device. You should have a second IDE
connector on the motherboard (currently without any cable) to which you
could attach one or two more IDE devices (hard drives, CD or CD/R, or DVD).
