My computer does not recognise my printer and camera which
are both plugged into my USB ports. I am using Windows 98
and I am getting really desperate

Have you checked the hardware (BIOS) setup to see if the ports are enabled?
How about checking Device Manager to see what USB devices and ports are
installed on your system?

Can you please advise how to do this?  When I re-start in
MS-DOS mode I get the follow WARNING, WARNING, WARNING:

Plug & Play OS is selected in the BIOS set up

WARNING, WARNING, WARNING:

No valid CDRom device drives selected.

Thanks,
