Hello,
I am running an ASUS P4B board on Win98SE with a Pentium 4 processor.
Actually I should say first that my system works, BUT:
In the Windows 98 device manager under "Plug and Play BIOS" there is an
exclamation mark, and the related error message is "This device driver
could not be loaded because two BIOS.VXD bus types are present (code 2).
Get an updated BIOS from the manufacturer." (I have installed BIOS
revision 1012 which seems to be the latest final revision for the P4B
board.)
I tried to get rid of this by just deleting the "Plug and Play BIOS"
from the device manager and rebooting, hoping that Windows would
re-detect the BIOS correctly. However, after this it did not at all
recognise the chipset, and even trying to reinstall the chipset driver
failed! ("Required hardware not found".) I had to restore the registry
manually (which I luckily had saved before deleting the "Plug and Play
BIOS" entry) to get the system back to the previos state.
How can I get rid of the error message in the device manager?
Thanks,
Olaf

Did you use the switch /p j when installing Win98?
