Hello,
We have a network of Windows XP and 98 machines. There is
a Brother HL 1450 printer hooked up to an XP machine and
I'm trying to share it across the network.
The other XP machines seem to be able to gain access to
the printer and use it without any problems. However, the
Windows 98 machines seem to be having problems. Either
they are asking for networking passwords to allow access
to the printer (although no network password was set) or
that I end up with the following bi-di.386 error message
whenever I
boot up the machines:
"Cannot find a device file that may be needed to run
Windows or a Windows application.
"The Windows registry or SYSTEM.INI file refers to this
device file, but the device file no longer exists.
"If you deleted this file on purpose, try uninstalling the
associated application using its uninstall or setup
program.
"If you still want to use the application associated with
this device file, try reinstalling that application to
replace the missing file.
"bi-di.386
"Press a key to continue"
Can anyone advise me on how to solve the problem?
Many thanks in advance for your help.

My oppinnion is that you have to turn on Guest account on XP machine where
printer is... I am not sure, try access from Win98 to WinXP, if you can't on
Microsoft site there is a solution...
