When attempting to print from a ".txt" file from WordPad
using an HP Deskjet 5650 printer although Print Preview
shows all okay, when it is sent to print the text is
interr_upted well before the end of the sheet and the rest
of the text is printed on a new sheet.  This interruption
takes place mid-way through a line of text and it also
takes place at a different line on each attem_pt.

Printing_ is okay from other applications.

Any solution would be appreciated.

I am now able to add-to/answer my own query, in case it
may help others:

The printing problem described in my pr_evious message in
this tread, regarding WordPad, also then started to affect
Word 2000.

Since HP were unable to suggest any solutions, I exchanged
the new "HP Deskjet 5650" printer at the shop for
an "Epson Stylus C84" which so far has not shown any
problems.

Prior to installing the Epson printer, I discovered a
large num_ber of Hewlett Packard executable files left on
my system from the uninstall of two previous HP printers.

Therefore query if old software files from previous
printers may interfer with the operation of a new printer.

I removed those old files using Symantec's CleanSweep 2000
v. 4.7 and followed this up using the same product, with a
Registry Cleanse, targeting the old software.

Printer software may preferably require uninstalling_ from
its installation CD rather than from 'Add/Remove
Programs'.  Printer installation CDs may possibly for
uninstall but definitely for install, require the printer
to be connected to the system.
