my printer

my windows 98 is not letting me install my hp 3820 printer.
please advise.

Please explain what you mean by "not letting you install".  Are you running
the installation program provided by HP?  Are you following the instructions
from HP on how to install this exactly?  With some printers, you must not
connect the printer to your computer until you have installed the software.
Installing the software first allows your computer to recognize the printer
and install it correctly.

For some printers, you must first connect the printer so the first thing to
do here is to uninstall anything that you have installed that has to do with
the printer and then follow the manufacturer's directions exactly.

If you get one or more errors during the installation, please let us know
exactly what the errors are and when you get them in the installation
process.

Does the printer connect via USB or parallel?  If by USB, you might also
